The Cavoodle, also known as the Cavapoo, is one of Australia’s most beloved designer breeds, renowned for its affectionate temperament, intelligence, and adaptability. A cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle, the Cavoodle combines the best qualities of both parent breeds, making it an ideal companion for families, singles, and seniors alike.

Their **soft, wavy, or curly fur comes in a variety of colours, including apricot, black, white, chocolate, and combinations of these shades. Cavoodles generally weigh between 5 to 12 kg and stand 25 to 38 cm tall at the shoulder, depending on whether they inherit Toy or Miniature Poodle genetics. Their compact size makes them well-suited to both apartment living and larger family homes.  

 

Temperament and Personality  

Renowned for their loyal and affectionate personalities, Cavoodles thrive on human companionship. They are gentle with children, warm towards strangers, and generally get along well with other pets. Their friendly and social nature makes them excellent therapy dogs, providing emotional support and companionship to individuals in need.  

 

Cavoodles are generally healthy dogs, but as with any breed, they require regular veterinary check-ups to monitor potential health concerns. Common issues may include heart conditions, ear infections, and joint problems, particularly in later years. Their hypoallergenic coats require regular grooming to prevent matting and ensure cleanliness.

 

To keep a Cavoodle happy and healthy:
